Just replaced the neutral and blinker lamps with led's.

WOW.....what a difference. Thanks for the help from the folks on this site on which bulbs to order.

None of this would be necessary if the lenses had a matte finish. As it stands, any sun at all nearly obliterates light shining up from the bulb below. Bad design, Triumph. Owners shouldn't have to make these mods just to read the indicators.

I never had trouble with glare off the lenses, by the time the sun got to that point, the reflection off the chrome "nacelle" would render me blind for a short while.
The brighter LEDs are more visible in peripheral vision, so you don't have too look down away from where the lights should be (up around the speedo). BTW, if you change the red oil light for an LED, at night you will see a faint glow if you look directly down into the light. Apparently thats normal, not an indication of low oil pressure.

Yep... the oil pressure switch is a pressure sensitive variable resistor. At normal oil pressure the resistance is high enough to stop a regular globe from turning on, but led's turn on at a much lower voltage.

That may be a good thing, maybe it would warn sooner of loss of pressure instead of once all pressure is gone and too late.

Adding one or more silicon diodes (or a Zener diode) in series with the LED should allow it to go out completely.

If you're that worried about it... you've really got to look close to see the glow, and if you're looking THAT close while you're riding, oil pressure should be the least of your worries.
