The cocktail shakers are very loud. I just took them off my bike cuz I am moving to Southern CA...noise police are there...I plan to put in a different baffle with packing.........Did mean to hi-jack the thread...very nice bike...what did you do for the idiot lights ?

No problem and thanks. The trumpets are a little on the loud side, but not any louder than most of the Harleys out there. They definately change the sound from stock, adding much more deep thumping sound, which is what I wanted. As far as the light, just put some small black bullets on the rear fender brackets and removed the front ones, hiding the conecting wires.

That is the best America hands down. So perfect.
You mentioned needing to "massage" the tunnel to fit over the engine mount, but how did you handle the relays and igniter box?
Did you make the rear shock lowering brackets or are they after market? Looks like the front suspension is dropped a bit too? Shorter internal springs?

Thanks again. The rear lowering brackets are after market from streetboogie and I used Progressive front lowering springs for the front, 2 inches front and back. As far as the relays and ignitor box, that was a black electrical tape job under the frame. I need to figure out some sort of bracket for those.

Gotta agree with Jinx... this is the nicest job I've seen. OUTSTANDING! Would love to see it topped off with a 21 inch front wheel and Brents low profile seat...

Thank you. I also feel it could use some finishing touches, but so far I am pleased with how it is turning out. It makes me feel good to see that so many people appreciate what I did. Thank you.

You sir, are an out and out plagerist.  Those ideas are all mine and your bike looks exactly like mine.  Well it looks like that in my head anyway. By the way how did you get into my head?  I thought only the wife could do that and whilst in there mess it up. Seriously, very nice, I love the black details, is that the original headlight, been looking for a smaller black one. you take the stock battery bracket, and trim it free of the ignition bracket and lower bracket...and then at 2 bent L-shaped brackets liek this

Too ****** cool. Take a single hole paper punch found at most dollar stores and pop a couple of vent holes in the backside of the gaiters. That will allow them to vent air in and won't look like your granny's socks.

Thanks, but I don't know if that will make a difference because of the length of the gaiters. They looked normal before I lowered it 2 inches. Do you know where I can find shorter gaiters that would fit?

Some chopper guys use an electronic/wireless bicycle speedo/odometer. Most bike shops even Walmart, etc. carry them. Quote:

Although this isn't getting rid of the speedo altogether, some of us have modded our speedos to lower the overall profile. Here is a Link that shows a couple of different ways to make the mod. Steven

Good looking bike, but not as good as mine!  I used the Sigma bike speedometer. I picked it up for 10 bucks and installed it between the risers (out of the way). It was a 10 min installation and is balls on accurate.

I like the look of the Bonnie tank, it gives the bike a slimmer look which is what I was going for. As far as the mods, I had to use a hammer on the back bottom of the tank to widen in out some. A little on the petcock side being careful not to damage the petcock holes and more on the oposite side just enough to fit. I also had to cut a 1/4 of an inch or so off of the mounting brackets on the frame. I also had to relocate the relay and ingnitor box under the top fram tube with electrical tape(temporary).

I agree, just put a £12 Catseye speedo on mine. If you get a black one and mount it behind the brake fluid reservoir it almost disappears. Shows all that you need and you can run it with a trip meter display so no problems with the fuel issue. I'm just comparing it with the stock speedo at the moment so when that comes off I'll post a pic. Really cleans up the front end as is spot on accurate.

Here we go, one set of clean handlebars, the speedo is behind the brake reservoir and is easily seen from the saddle.  £12 english pounds and a few cable ties  Just checked the accuracy on a measure half mile and its spot on.  Cheers Chris

Don't know whether these pics will be very good, its lashing down with rain outside.  This should show generally where the sensor is fitted, its on the left fork leg only because the wire can then be fed up the brake line to the unit.  This shows the sensor and magnet fitted, I'm hoping to powder coat the fork legs black soon so the cable ties (if I use black) shouldn't show. I think all of the sensors are slightly different, the catseye one is the perfect size for this location. The magnet is glued onto the rotor. I used Araldite "Best glue ever, better than anything else" I rode to Stratford on Thursday on the motorway (240 miles) and have ridden locally before I fitted the sensor and it hasn't budged.  Not a great picture but shows how near you can fit the sensor without it snagging anywhere. Only fiddly bit was fabricating a cover for the speedo cable after I took it off. Cheers Chris
