I have been debating whether or not to get a set of tank pads for my Speedy. They seem like a logical addition to a Bonnie or Thruxton tank. I'm not sure if they will add or take away from the look. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

They look pretty neat, but will permanently mar the paint on your tank. That's kept me from considering one.

I would be one rider that likes them:

My mistake! I thought you were asking about the tank things that go on top of the tank. I love the knee pads and have had them on my bike since it was a year old.

OldRoadie, You have a great bike! Those custom leather pads look great! Where I have a Speedy with a non traditional paint job I am wondering if they will look right or not. http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...ge=1#Post334072

The knee pads are great. I had them mounted at the dealer's when I bought my TBA 6 years ago. Never regretted it, especially in the winter.

You should mock up a pad out of cardboard, spray it flat black and have a look. I don't think it would clash with your flames but only you will know for sure.

I'd forgotten how good your bike looks! The leather against the green is really special. SteveB

I have them and get lots of compliments on them. Its all in what you like, just like any other customizations.

Its all how you like the look I think. I ride pretty hard summer and winter and hardly ever touch them. Besides if you dont take perfect care of them, the rubber rubs off on your pants and hands.
