Sticky back kind should work fine also. So long as the decal is mirror imaged(for inside windshield). The decal you want will be cut vinyl with a backing piece you remove then a clear plastic piece to squeege on then peel off leaving just your letterring. Use windex liberally,apply decal right over wet windex so you can slide it about until you're happy with it's placement, then squeege out air bubbles(I usually trace the letters with my index finger so they dont pull away when peeling off the clear plastic letter spacing piece).
A sign shop could make exactly what you want. just give them the design.
