Here is the info directly from the TRAP pack leader:

Quote:

We are at the Best Western Inn in Baker City on Sept 4,5,6, and 7. Phone is 541-523-6444, just tell them you are with the "TRAP Club" when making your reservations. Dinner this year will be at the Geiser Grand hotel in downtown Baker City, easy staggering distance from our motel. Well, OK, it's about 10-12 blocks, but still that's better than the 10 miles to Haines! Meet and greet on Thursday night with food in the motel, Rally t-shirt, maps of the area, and more twisties than you could get on "the Dragon" in a whole day of riding. The motel has a full service restuarant and bar, plus a pool and hot tub. All this for only $55 per person, so WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!! Go (or call) to Cascade Moto Classics and pay your $55 (still cheap!) and Janice will put you on the list. Remember to give her your t-shirt size.

Check our club website in the next day or two for more information, or just read the next "RAT Tales" when it comes out. You can also get more information at www.bestwestern.com and www.Geisergrand.com Hey, you might even win a door prize or two. Oh, and if you are REALLY nice, Jay might even share some of his world famous margaritas by the gallon!! Woo-Hoo!!

SEE YOU IN BAKER!
Lee

How many from the Idaho area attend this? I'm thinking about going. Would like to make a weekend of it, but, already had weekend plans for the BSU/U of O game in sept. Probably will make a saturday ride to it. What kind of events go on at this?

If I were you, I would plan on the ride to Baker City. You know the Ducks will stomp them Broncos.

There is a Meet and greet on Thursday night, lots of riding on Friday and Saturday with a banquet on Saturday night.

Bob...Karen and I are in. We need to figure out routes, and travel times ASAP so Karen can get the days off.

Any thoughts?
In my mind now is getting to Portland on Wed, slab if needed.
Thurs morning depart Portland via 26E to Madras, 97S to Redmond, 26E to 7E into Baker City.
Thats roughly 343 miles Portladn to Baker City.

Maybe we can ride with the TRAPs too.

Soren...any info on departure day, time location?

I would prefer to leave thurs am,meet at North Bend, travel I-90 to 82,head south to Pendleton,up over Cabbage Pass thru LaGrande to Baker City...about 350+miles total trip..10 easy hours with stops(Kennewick stop at Triumph dealer for look over?)Good 2 lane hwy from 82 all the way to BakerCity.Jhaggard not likely to committ...work schedule uncertain andbike going to shop..starter problems with new battery. How about anyone else...The three of us ride well together and we can make room for more.Andy?Kirk?Dustin(is honeymoon over???)

Karen is also favoring the Thur departure so Thur departure it is.
North Bend is hte place, Baker City is the destination.

...what time do you think we should be departing North Bend?

The meet and Greet thursday evening is at 6pm at the Best Western in Baker City..It is 350 miles from North Bend and we average 40+ miles per hour which includes stop for fuel and refreshments..so 9 hours is plenty of time ..leave North Bend at 800 am and "Balls to the Wall"will be there at 200pm and leisurely at 500pm(our pace!)..So lets plan launch at 800 am at McDonalds in North Bend..fuel right there at Chevron so we are on the same page..lots of nice scenery to take in and we dont want to miss it!!So there you are you traveling rats! Are you in??Bob,"Z" and Karen is a threesome..room for more!!

There is no official ride out to Baker City planned. Since everything is happening out there, it's pretty much get out there at your leisure. I think for most people they are taking a "Just Get There" attitude. You guys could just cut across Washington diagnally to get there.

Anyone from the Idaho crowd thinking of going? I can't make the whole event so my wife and I will go up Saturday morning. Probably will leave from the Flying J at the I-84 in Caldwell about 9 am.

Heres a link to my Baker City pics. Zs Baker City Pics

Mostly Bob, Karen and I. Tonight is the dinner so maybe more pics to follow. We head home tomorrow morning.
All I can say about this trip is WOW!
The roads out here are freaking awesome!
Weve stopped at many little towns where the population has doubles just by us riding in and weve done our fair share of debugging the local area of...well...bugs
People are real nice and the event reminds me of what Nelson was probably like the first couple years.

This is certianly on the roster for next year and many years to come!

If you put it off this year you should make it a point to go next year.

Great pics Z, thanks. I wish I could have made the ride with all of you.
Bob's new ride looks great and I see he's a more aerodynamic without the beard.
I hope you all have a great, safe ride back to the Sound. Maybe I can go next year, since it does not involve riding on a "^&%$%!#* predator-like" island!!

Whoa!!! Looking at some of those banquet pics, it looks like y'all have experienced some kind of serious allergic reaction to riding through them there bugs. You need to wear a full-face helmet and keep the visor DOWN!!

I bet "Hot Lips" Bob would be a real popular "fellah" if he detoured back through San Fran!

Have a safe ride back home . Weather is great here. I'm itching to get out and ride, still not ride ready.

Here are the photo's I took. Brent's Slideshow
I'll add more from Jeff and Phil when I get them. I hope you enjoy them.

Baker City is a great place with some great rides. Those few days only give you a taste of what is out there. I can't wait until next year.

Thanks,
I think I am going to try and find some folks who might want to ride up early on Sunday Morning and head home late afternoon. If I decided to head up that way, I would be happy to exchange numbers to meet some folks.

Cheers,
Brent
