Finally got the call that my new '08 America EFI was ready to pick up today. Blue on blue. Added TOR Longs, engine dresser bar, footboards, tall sissybar w/rack, lightbar and 18-litre bags. It's a real change from the FJR (still in the garage - may keep it or may let it go if I'm on the TBA all the time). Love the TBA so far (60 kms) - really comfortable, corners well, a nice visceral throb - lot's of soul. Love it.

I'm getting some exhaust popping on decel - normal or should I check on re-mapping the efi?

Having been a lurker for many months, I'm looking forward to joining in now. Sorry I didn't have the bike in time for the Nelson Rat get-together - where is it next year?

Happy to be here,
Pedro

Did you pick it up from the new dealership in Kelowna?

You could've come to the Raid anyway on your FJR and introduced yourself!

KELOWNA???!!! Did somebody say "Kelowna"???

I'll bet he did buy it there, John. Vernon is not too far from Kelowna, ya know. In fact, I'll be up in Kelowna visting "Ma", and finally getting to meet my other half-bro Grant there in the middle of August. The last time I was there, I stopped by that new Triumph shop which is very close to the Kelowna Airport. Nice place.

(sorry I hijacked your thread here Pedro...congrats on your purchase...I know you won't be disappointed)

According to my service manager, TORS on the carberated Americas do not require rejet, and some decel popping is normal. As for EFI I would imagine that if a remap was needed the dealer would have told since they did the install for you.

Thats assuming the dealer knows what he is selling anyway.

"Home of the cold cut pizza", very strange & almost, kinda' digestible . We took it upon ourselves to stop by & say hello to the family.

Congratulations Pedro, you won't be disappointed. A little backfire is normal on most of these bikes. That valley along the lake had more people than I expected. Like Bob said the 2009 Nelson ralleye is around 7/19 I believe.

Yes, mouthpiece, we know. Freedom, Zmilin and I were just there. But thanks for verifying it for us. We thought about dropping in on your mommy.

Welcome! I've only been riding mine about three weeks myself. Great bike!

Say, I'm surprised that yours is EFI. I thought all '08 models were carb'ed.

Carb'd in the US, EFI in Europe and Canada for '08. Must be because Quebec speaks French!

Checked out the fuel range today - exactly 300 kms / 185 miles to the fuel light staying on. Took 15.3 litres so I reckon another 50 kms / 30 miles easily. This is just getting better and better! May have an '05 FJR for sale real soon. Photos of the Bonnie coming as soon as I figure out how to !
