Last night, my daughter who works at the theater took me to see the 25th anniversary showing of WarGames. Aside from the fact that it was a bunch of old computer geeks like me, it was pretty cool. They screened interviews with the writers / directors / and cast before the movie.
The movie has held up pretty well, I think mostly because there were not a lot of dated special effects (no hand drawn laser beams, etc).
Would you like to play a game?

You can get the actual game on Steam, just like in the film. It's pretty good.

Wow. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago. That explains why I keep seeing gray in my hair. Ugh!

You got Hair?
The percentage you're paying is too high-priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams

What kind of stuff do you work with Thom? I'm a host and unix guy involved in a data warehouse that's migrating to an etl/informatica platform. Don't particularly care for the direction but I guess nobody asked me....

I own half of a small company and we do custom software (mostly in .NET and Java) for health care and public health. I am on a long term gig with the CDC, but have lots commercial health care customers as well. I am the database guy and my partner is the web guy. Everything else we just parcel up between us.
