Paul,

Glad to hear you and Julie are ok.

Despite the inevitable soaking on the way up and the slightly unexpected soaking on the way down (with a quick bit of a drama involving a wet spark plug) it was a cracking weekend, meeting some old faces and new ones, seeing some smashing scenery and having a laugh in the pub.

However, I have also learned quite a bit this weekend:-

1. Weather forcasters should be shot.

2. Many people are so easily amused by a man carrying around a sausage in his pocket in the pub.

3. Cold cumberland sausage is an excellent alternative to kebabs after a couple!!! of beers.

4. Chris (oldgimmer) puts on an excellent shadow show in the style of Austin Powers when the pubs are shut.

5.Always check your handlebars, bearings and engine when starting up the bike at service stations as delinquents have been known to interfere with bikes at these locations.

6. When watching a pub singer be careful of the 70 year old groupies.

7. I am not ....repeat NOT the only person capable of getting lost on a seemingly straight piece of road. Although service stations have been known to confuse me.

8. If you ever need to find Ray in a hurry - make a noise like a tea bag and he will soon appear.

9. The pubs in Dent sell highly addictive ale.

But seriously Ray did a great job in organising a fantastic weekend and I'm sure that everyone will agree.

Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"
