Back from the USA! Have I missed much?
Simon, Sorry to hear you are not going mate - I'll have a couple of beers for you.
Before I forget - I'm going to be at Newport Pagnell services on the M1 at 7am to get to Hilton services on the M6 where I will follow a bunch of bikes to a field in Yorkshire.
And before anyone says it - yes, I have remembered to put tent poles in.
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

Tone, When you said you wasn't going to Dent I messaged Stephen from Hemel Hempstead and suggested Newport Pagnell as it is straight up the M1 for him and easier for me to get to.

11am - 12 at Lancaster Services. or 10am at Junction 3 (Kirkham turn off)off the M55.
We have a little run over Quernmore to Caton from the Lancaster services a little bit more scenic than the M6. A very short stop at Caton (Fag, brew toilets etc etc) then off to Devil's Bridge for around 1pm - 2pm
My mobile number is 07977151118 for anyone who wants to contact me tomorrow or 01253 870979 tonight if you really need to chat...

Bit of advise.
I was up there two weeks ago and we had heavy rain. As soon as the sun came out the place was swarming with midgies.
Get to the chemist, get some anti histamines and get some of those candles that you light in your garden.
There were no midgies in the pub though (the one that has its own brewery) and the Porter is lovely

Looks like I am the first home!! For those who did't make it on the Friday due to the torrential and persistent rain, you should have persivered. Sat and sunday were mainly dry and sunny. Ride out was brilliant seeing all those Americas,Speedmasters, Rocket 3s and the odd Bonny thundering through the Yorkshire dales The Beer in the Pubs was superb and the craic was outstanding. No doubt Ray and others will fill in the spaces. Julie and I got knocked off the bike about 4 miles from Dent but we and the Bike are OK..No damage. A silly plonker in a white van decided to reverse into a passing place along that single track road leading from Dent I had stopped behind him when he stopped and started to reverse, he pushed me backwards until we toppled over...."Sorry mate didn't see you" he said..even though I had been following him for the last 3 miles. No worries didn't spoil the weekend. Looking forward to next year and more Dent Brewery 'Awd Tup' beer. Hope all made it home safely. Thanks for organising the event Ray. See you at The Bonneville Anniversary bash next month. Paul and Julie

Home by 2.00pm. Not too bad. Had some horrendous weather on way back. Thanks once again Ray. Excellent weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed the ride out, stunning scenery. The area I live in is about to become a National Park but we certainly haven't got anything to match up to some of the roads you took us on. Glenn

Paul, Glad to hear you and Julie are ok. Despite the inevitable soaking on the way up and the slightly unexpected soaking on the way down (with a quick bit of a drama involving a wet spark plug) it was a cracking weekend, meeting some old faces and new ones, seeing some smashing scenery and having a laugh in the pub. However, I have also learned quite a bit this weekend:- 1. Weather forcasters should be shot. 2. Many people are so easily amused by a man carrying around a sausage in his pocket in the pub. 3. Cold cumberland sausage is an excellent alternative to kebabs after a couple!!! of beers. 4. Chris (oldgimmer) puts on an excellent shadow show in the style of Austin Powers when the pubs are shut. 5.Always check your handlebars, bearings and engine when starting up the bike at service stations as delinquents have been known to interfere with bikes at these locations. 6. When watching a pub singer be careful of the 70 year old groupies. 7. I am not ....repeat NOT the only person capable of getting lost on a seemingly straight piece of road. Although service stations have been known to confuse me. 8. If you ever need to find Ray in a hurry - make a noise like a tea bag and he will soon appear. 9. The pubs in Dent sell highly addictive ale. But seriously Ray did a great job in organising a fantastic weekend and I'm sure that everyone will agree.

Ok then....
I GOT WET!!!! Riding home it started raining about Manchester and really didn't stop till I got off the M32. I've not got this wet since I had to capsize a canoe in the Trent...
I was gonna clean the bike this evening, to get rid of the road dirt, but after a bath and a nap....it's not happened.
Great weekend though. Great to see the old faces.... and the new ones. Can't wait to the Bonnie Event... and if you want something similar there's the Concorde Rally in September!!!!

Once again cheers Ray, despite the weather most of us encountered somewhere along the line it was a cracking weekend. I did wonder where everybody was when I arrived, but that was quite easy to work out. Ride out was well worth going on to see some lovely parts of the country (Even though I missed out on a section of the planned route) Arrived home about 5pm and only had one short shower on the way up, sounds like most of the bad weather was south.

So far no pics of me... good, good.... And for those who were wondering how I carried my crap on my bike this weekend... I've ordered some more pannier rails. Actually I've ordered the square bags as they were only £10 or so more.... Before...lots of bungees!!!
