Paul, We'll probably meet you folks at Hilton on the way up so unless you want to take your chances and follow me I figure the being lost bit is covered. I can also say with total coviction that if I forget the tent poles this time I'll be stood there all night holding the tent up with heavy bruising or riding back down home to get the tent poles. The boss will see to that .

I have put everybody on a spreadsheet Billy, this is given to the campsite (Margaret)owner and I check who has turned up and paid and those that have not. Those that just turn up may get told this year they cannot camp.
Last year it was hectic as people just turned up and tried paying at the campsite, some did others were told to come and see me..
This year we are trying to make life easier..

I popped over to the Woburn RAT meet last night and I was chatting to the organiser of the Woburn RAT last night and he seemed quite interested about Dent.
Some of the other members were interested too.
Mind you I don't think there are a lot of America/Speedmaster owners there but I didn't talk to everyone.

Had a ride up to the campsite at Dent today. Breakfast will be Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Black pudding in a tray with a barm and a cup of tea/coffee. Also dropped in to the Sun Inn, unfortunately they did not have a menu I could steal. accomodation is also available at the Sun In:-
Prices are Two people sharing a double or twin room £18.50 each £37.00 per night. One person in a single room £25.00 per night. You can contact the Sun Inn on 015396 25208. Don't leave it though as they have only 4 rooms available and one was booked already. The George and Dragon let me take one and here is what's available.

Ray, what is a barm? Is it food, drink or a term for a loose woman?

Ivan,
I think it's northern rhyming slang for a bit of bread.
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

Barm cake is type of bread roll, flat like an American Hamburger Bun, and floured on top. It had a characteristically strong flavour that comes from the traditional barm leaven made from a natural leaven with the addition of hops. However, the Barm Cake is more likely made from commercial yeast these days.[citation needed]
The original barm cake is found in areas of North West England. In wider northern England, a similar bread roll would be known instead as a "breadbun", "breadcake", "bap" or even (in the enlarged form of Tyneside) a "stotty".

It's not rhyming slang... just a different name. I've given up the arguments when I go places as to the difference between barms, rolls, cobs, teacakes, breadcakes... there all the same.
Except teacakes. they have raisins in!
