Hi, I have a question. The missus says my bike is too quiet and wants it to be louder, but, we are not in a financial position to buy pipes right now. Is there any "low cost / freebie way to make the pipes louder?
A guy I work with says that he thinks that the baffles can be tampered with.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, since my wife is the one who bought me the bike ( I'm lucky)I want to let her know what can be done, if anything.

Yep, chop on the baffles. I know there used to be an extended hole saw floating around this place to do it. Maybe it still exists.

Khromewerks.com these pipes bolt right up, sound great and are $27 shipped to your door. I know a few of us have them here and like them and they will cure your "Quiet" problem. Pipes 202155 is the model you need.

I have gutted quite a few pipes, be sure to leave the reducer cone in if you go that route so you don't lose bottom end torque. Also be sure to re-jet to match any exhaust or intake changes you make.

Hey JackW, How is the muffler mount attaching under there? Did you have to drill holes in the frame? Thanks for adding the picture!

They are just bolted to the header pipe. They are on there pretty good. Just the clamp is holding them on. Never had an issue

By "sound great" does that mean they are quieter than the stock or TORS; or louder? Did you have to rejet etc?
