your dilema is corrent...no resolution yet. Youd be best off getting a set of older upper shrouds then there are options. Thats what I would up doing. I run teh Alley Cat and a set of lowers. Fasteddysports.com has the best prices adn service for Memphis products.

Forget the MS and Call National Cycle. #866-983-2465 Talk to Steve Cihlar EXT.146. Steve and I put together all the parts to install their "Switch Blade" mounts on the 07 BA. The Switch Blade line has four different windshields that will attach to the same mounts and can be changed in seconds without the use of tools. Plus, you can run without the windshield at all and the mounts are hardly noticeable, in fact, they’re attractive and unobtrusive. I have the “Two Upâ€, and there is no buffeting. The “Shorty†looks like a Memphis Fats and the quality is second to none. I work at night and by the time I get to work the windshield is covered with bugs, so I clean it every morning before I leave work. There is still not a scratch on it. It's made of a hi grade Polycarbonate with some kind of coating and it’s is worth every penny I spent on it. Go to this sight and watch the video http://www.nationalcycle.com/newsvideo/Poly_MPG.html. Tell him Chip sent you and there may be a price incentive in it for you. Dollar for dollar the best money I've spent on my bike yet. If the other web sight doesn't work try this one http://www.nationalcycle.com/newsvideo/index.html#

Thanks for the great info, Chip. I sent an e-mail yesterday and left VM for Steve today. Hopefully, I can get this taken care of within a few more days.

I also want lowers, but probably won't change the shrouds. Should I order the lowers with upper tube mount or lower tube mount? Or will neither type fit my bike with the stock forks/shroud?

Chip, I talked to Steve this morning. Yours was a one-off that they apparently don't want to do again. He said they won't have a regular production kit available for at least six weeks. I inferred from the conversation that this estimate could be highly optimistic, and there's no guarantee that waiting would pay off.
At this point, I believe I've exhausted all the possible options. There simply aren't any aftermarket windshields available that are custom-fitted for the '07-'08 America. Everything except the factory windshields use the handlebars for mounting.
Back to Triumph...

Jack I have lowers that will fit the upper tubes as well as they ones for the lower tubes. They were a special acquirement from Memphis Shades that you can not get outside of them directly.
If you go with upper tube mounts you have to buy the complete set plus the additional clamps. If you go lower tube you get changes in the length of the mount bracket. That is why I have the upper and lower tube application so you can choose which you like.
Also, option as I posted in a review, the other option you have is to remove the upper fork tubes and then a few other options open up.
I was right in the middle of a trial for Memphis Shades application and my supplier went out of business and I am waiting to re-establish that link. But Slipstreamer Classic screen functions really well with this set up and is still on my bike! Great performance and the look is good too without the shrouds. This screen however is NOT quick release ad in my critical assessment will not NEED lowers.

Hi Eddy, thanks for weighing in on this. To be honest, I don't think the Slipstreamer is what I'm looking for. I've pretty much decided on the Triumph Roadster at this point.
I'm confused about the lowers that you have in stock. Will both types of mounts (upper tube and lower tube) fit a stock '08 America with tapered shrouds? I don't want to modify the forks/shrouds unless absolutely necessary. Also, I was thinking about buying lowers and then cutting larger panels from Lucite when I have time. Which type mount would be best for this if I'm using the Triumph screen?
Incidentally, can the lowers be made sufficiently large to achieve some leg protection? I'm not just looking to reduce upper body buffeting.

Ok guys sorry for not getting back to you on the National Cycle questions, Health problems keept me away. I'm getting together all the part #s so you can call them and order them as I had to do. All you'll need is the mounting kit and add the mounting straps that go around the fork legs. Then order what ever windshield you want because they all mount to the same mounts. Give me a couple of days and I'll have all the info. I'm going to try to get pictures to Tony and he said he'll post them in the teck section. I knew I should of kept better records when I was putting it together, but it took over a month of mailing stuff back and forth. Info got lost over that time and Steve said he was keeping track. Chip

Thanks Chip, but you might want to check with National Cycle, just to be sure future requests for those parts will be honored. National Cycle was my last shot at an aftermarket screen, and Steve simply wasn't interested in helping. I ordered a new Roadster screen yesterday. Wish I'd done it sooner.

I talked to Steve at National Cycle today and here is the skinny. The Shield is the one that fits; the Honda Shadow Spirit 750, or the Shadow Ace 97-2000, or the Shadow 1100 87-97. Mine is the Two Up model and the part # is N21101. It is tall and I look through mine, but I ride all year round. It blocks a lot of air and there is no buffeting. There are 4 different windshields that will attach to the same mounts.
The mounting kit part # is, Q102. You'll need to add 2each of the following.
Mounting straps, The top strap is a number 73, and that number is located on the inside of the strap. The Part # is 37-370173-000.
The bottom strap is a 74, and the part # is 37-370174-000. Be sure to order [2] two of each or you’ll only be able to put one mount on.
These are all the part numbers you'll need to have all the parts to mount the “Switch Blade†shields to you bike, if you have the tapered bezels over your fork legs. Follow the directions they send except one thing. Turn the bottom spool around so that the thick part is on the outside. That takes up the difference in the taper of the bezel. Steve said all the parts are available and could be ordered by the numbers I've given here by any of the sales reps. He also didn’t mean to imply that they wouldn’t sell these parts to anyone who wanted to mount their windshield. They weren’t sure if there was enough interest to develop a kit for our bikes. If there are any questions I’d be glad to help, so just PM me and I’ll try to answer all. If you get the parts and have any trouble mounting them you can also give me a shout. I had some trouble ,but I did the R&D because they didn’t know what I needed to make it work. Once I got all the right pieces it was pretty straight forward. Estimated time to mount the mounting brackets is ½ hour. Time to install windshield, 5 seconds.

chip I got your pictures....I will post them tonight here for you...thanks for doing the leg work....hopefully, we can get this in the tech vault. it's AWESOME to know there is a quick release available to the 07 and later bikes.
Triumph is introducing such a shield next year but I'm sure it will MUCH more expensive then this option and NC might even supply triumph with the parts.

Yeah, too bad NC is so difficult to do business with. I asked their guy repeatedly to sell me the parts and screen for my bike. He insisted there was no immediate solution.
