What other Jap or Harley cruiser has that engine? Stop and realize that our TBA's and Speedies are only true to the Triumph Heritage to a certain extent. If you wanted something that was straight out of the 60's why didn't you buy a T100 or standard Bonnie? Those bikes are easily truer to the Triumph heritage than any of our bikes.

All I am asking for is some knee knock-outs on the tank. Just something that says "Yes, I am a Triumph" without having to look at the name badge.

Its suprising just how much better she looks with those cooling fins on the barrell. Its the little touches that can make all the difference.

I agree, it does look much better with the fins. Too bad that Triumph doesn't have a public email to flood them with emails of with this picture.

I just have a couple of comments:
1) The people who don't like it and say their BA/SM has plenty of power, why would you change?
2) The people who don't like it, like their bike, but want more power, you really should consider adding the BigBore kit to your bike. For only $1200. I had mine done including labor I gained almost 50% more torque and power. I couldn't be happier with what I have and I was considering a bigger cruiser.
As far as my opinion, I'd have to see it in person and hope they do make some cosmetic design changes. I think straight pipes would look better and would like them to figure out how to have a more Triumph looking tank. Right now I still think the engine looks like a french robot wearing a blue beret.
If my bike got totaled and it was between my 904 05 America all tricked out and a new BA/SM, I'd definitely consider the Thunderbird - for now, no.

French robot lol No one has said anything about the bagger! Looks a bit like the HD Road King IMHO. Is that a screen and spot lights I see? Anyone got any better pics??? I'm starting to think silver might be the choice Pic was from Jack Lilley UK

Mr Man, how could you say such a thing. "Looks like a Road King" indeed.
Harley Davidson have invested many years perfecting the look of the Road King and you think Triumph can just come along and make a bike that "Looks like a Road King" in one go?
For instance, in the year two thousand and four Harley Davidson brought their combined design muscle to bare in perfecting the 05 FLHRCi Road King CLassic. They changed the headlight lens. It was a stunning upgrade that was as unexpected by the motorcycling press as it was welcomed by Harely fans (who could finally see on low beam). These are the kinds of exciting breakthrough design improvements that set Harley Davidson apart.
Wait until the Thunderbird bike is 12 years old and the tail light gets changed then Triumph can claim to be as innovative as HD.

PS any colour but red.

Wow, a VTXVolcanboulevardshadow. Thailand has finally crushed the 4 rice burners together into one fabulous 3rd world country compilation sold by a British company that has lost its sole.
That motorcycle already exist and sells very well. Stop in a Suzuki dealership and take a test ride.

Suzuki has gone back to building verticle twins? First I dont like the bike..why? Simple I dont like big lumbering beasts. But to call it a copy of anthing is pretty unfair. Yeah it has carateristics of other bikes,But with so many bikes on the market it would be hard not to find similarities."hey look it has 2 wheels" "Just another Vespa knock off If you ask me".And to call it a copy of Jap bikes, which from day one of the Jap bike industry have been copies of everthing. Is rediculous.
People have been (Primarily in the US) whining for a Truimph heavy cruiser. Well guess what here it is.
The percentage you're paying is too high-priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams
