no, not made in China... this is my second one of these; the first one did its job VERY well when I had my accident and the reason I bought another one. Crashed, slid and rolled on the floor... got right back up without a scratch; my shoulder was bruised due to the impact but that's to be expected, not a pile of ****** by a long shot... are you judging the whole jacket just because the slider broke? really? the manufacturer probably didn't even make the slider. If this jacket really was a piece of ****** I would say it is but it isn't, can't judge it by a ****** slider man... anyway the leather is excellent, the seams are perfect, has good ventilation and overall I'm happy with it, I just can't believe the slider just snapped in two. I just need a new slider, that's all. I really don't wanna ship it out anyways, it'll cost more to ship it to the manufacturer than just buying a new slider...
Hang on man I didn't say anything one way or the other about the quality of your jacket since I don't know. I was just agreeing with what Mark said about buying quality.

Belstaff ,the old wax cotton style . for rainy days (which is almost every day here recently).a plain biker leather for cold days (when it doesnt rain)and a shirt made of that" carhartt" type material, for warm weather (if we ever get any)and of course the obligatory leather waistcoat/vest.

Not at all...more about the customer service. I own 6 pieces of domestically made leather...and will NEVER, I repeat NEVER even consider buying foreign. Apart from the infinitely superior materials and build quality, the customer service can't be beat when it comes to the domestic brands. I had some of the custom work on my Vanson start to delaminate so I dropped it off at the factory. 15 minutes later and it was fixed. No dealing with customer service reps. No hassle whatsoever. The same with my Walter Dyer gear. They have full lifetime warranties that they actually follow thru with.
I tore the zipper pull off of one of my Dyer jackets. Dropped it off at their shop and no questions asked, no bull****...just a fixed jacket and a true, heartfelt apology for the inconvenience.
I see no point on wasting my hard earned money on something that I'll have to replace in a few years. Do it right and get a quality product on day 1. You'll be glad you did...trust me.

oh no man I was really responding to Mark, I just pushed the wrong button... again
well, for what is worth Mark, I understand what you mean. I'll give TM the benefit of the doubt since its labor day weekend and all, will see. I guess this is what I get for buying online, I thought it was safe since I already had one before... Now off to JoAnn to see if I can find the darn slider.

Watch the reaction you get. There is something comical about walking into JoAnn Fabrics dressed in biker clothes and carrying a helmet...
I bought a cheap Chinese/Italian jacket off of ebay. Navarre Leather I think it was. It was one of them patchwork types - stitches all over it. Looked good, came with a zip-out liner, a hood, and had lots of pockets. It was warm and actually, it served me well for about 2 years. The only problem was the pockets and the ends of the sleeves closed with snaps. Cheap snaps. Snaps that came unsnapped if you burped or took a deep breath. So I went to JoAnn Fabrics and bought new snaps and changed them. The reactions I got in that store were entertaining to say the least......
Since then, I bought a real jacket from Fox Creek Leather. Definitely worth the money. Made in America out of leather, not gerbil hide or whatever that Navarre thing is made from.

Well, I currently have 5 different Triumph Jackets: 1. Triumph Summer Blouson Jacket 2. Triumph Rochester Mesh Jacket 3. Triumph Connaugh Jacket 4. Triumph Retro Racer Paddock Jacket 5. Triumph Heavy Leather Jacket
All serve different purposes, and luckily I got all of them at 33% to 50% off of MSRP.

It turns out that TM sent a generic email to let me know they received my inquiry. According to them they respond to every single email they receive but it can take 3-5 business days.
While I wait to get this resolved, I got an affordable textile jacket at Cycle Gear on monday (only place opened on labor day), offers more protection than just wearing a long sleeve shirt and is more comfortable in hot weather.
BTW sorry if I've sounded cranky... I'm on a diet and it puts me in a bad mood... I hate diets...

Joe Rocket mesh with pads (spine, elbow, shoulder) can be a bit warm if I'm stopped in traffic but not too bad with all the ventilation zippers opened.

My Triumph Retro Paddock Jacket seems to fit the bill for most of my needs in Maryland. Temps in the high 50's this morning, had it and a sweatshirt on underneath. By noon, just wearing the jacket (liner zipped out) and the vents open. By 4 PM, just a t-shirt. The jacket with liner and a sweatshirt is good down to the high 40's, which is pretty much as cold as I ride around here.

90 degrees down to 55 - Triumph Perforated Leather Retro Jacket and 501 Levis
Below 55 - Triumph Leather Retro Jacket and Triumph 5 Pocket Leather Jeans
Always wear the armor in the jackets, but not the jeans. Also, have a Triumph Summer Blouse which I mostly hit golf balls in.

Here is an update on Tour Master and my jacket, not like you'll care but maybe it'll help someone else.
I've been extremely patient with them but today I had it, after that automatic email reply I got I waited to hear from them... no dice. Today I sent them another email... this time a lengthty one telling them as nice as I could how terrible their customer service was, how unhappy I was and that I was gonna let everyone I knew to stay away from their products; I got the same auto-reply. Well, there you have it; stay away from their products because if they fail it will be near impossible to get in touch with them.
I'll try a local alterations shop to get a quick fix since fall is just around the corner and it will start to cool down but I will be saving my pennies for a Fox Creek jacket that Deon suggested.

The Fox Creek stuff is certainly high quality and I'm very pleased with my Classic II jacket as it certainly is built for the long haul. All the same, you should check out a jacket with kind of collar (if that style suits you) so you can find out if it interferes with your helmet or not. When I got it I was wearing a 3/4 Bell RT and it was fine, with a full face there's a little bit of friction that might be annoying to another rider.

If you ride on cold or wet weather I would say that the classic collar style is important. The flap formed by that style collar keeps wind from penetrating the zipper.

It should be noted that Wade is referring to MB in his later years, much rounder than that hipster in the Wild One...

Well, Tour Master noticed my last "unflattering" email I sent them telling them how lousy they are at customer no service. They sent my email to the national account manager who was very apologetic and wanted to resolve the problem, however the day they sent their response I had the jacket back from a local alterations shop, took 1 day to fix. I have my jacket back and the zipper slider works WAY better that the original. Needless to say that I will not get another TM product again, at least I have a leather jacket I can wear, now that is getting colder and I'm in no rush to get a new one.

I have the PowerTrip TT Jacket like this one. I put a big Triumph logo on the back, the bright blue, and retro reflective stripes are great. It is good pretty much for Spring, Summer, and Fall, but I'm getting something warmer for the winter.

I been holding out posting about my Olympia GT Air All Seasons Transition Jacket since it was new in July. It is a two piece jacket system. During July and August it very hot in Richmond and with the outershell I stayed reasonably cool. The jacket has vents on each sleeves, two vents on the chest and two large vents on the back that can be controled by zippers. I left Saturday morning to go to a rally in Leesburg and I think is was around 55F. Before I left I thought about adding the inner liner (very thick) then decided to closed all the vents and where a long sleeved tshirt and a short sleeved tshirt and stayed warm at interstate speeds. I'm a wimp when it comes to cold. I have to say so far the jacket is an excellent value and I hoping for the pants for Christmas (Santa do you hear me)

+1 on the Olympia. Have had mine since early spring and it has been reasonably comfortable all summer (we only had one week of really hot weather this summer). Have worn it a time or two with and without the liner at 55 degrees +/-. Cool without, warm with it zipped in.

Late to the party but thought I'd post anyway. Dainese Superfly, in black: I'm not a fan of shorter jackets and thought this one looked class. Having spent weeks deciding that I wanted this particular jacket, I took hours deciding on the colour. The photo's don't do them justice. Heavy as ****. Keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The only downside is that the zip is exposed so you've got to watch it doesn't catch the tank. Worn whatever the weather, along with a back protector, hip armour and knee armour. Overkill? Given the general standards of driving in the UK, not at all.
