Looks like plenty of things to customize on that, starting with the pipes and sprocket cover. Not totally ugly IMO, look forward to seeing it from all sides

Companies have a habit of "Uglifying" prototypes, bike or car. Maybe the bikes we've seen in spyshots before this have been purposely UF'd? Cause this one looks pretty good.

Gregger, It looks like it's the same bike as in the older spy shots in the other thread. It is however, a better/clearer picture.
Thanks for posting.

That radiator is big enough to cool a truck engine. Everything else looks good.

Yeah, they even used an oval tank badge.
Sorry guys, this bike doesn't float my boat. That motor & radiator scream Japan Inc. And a mono shock could've helped streamline the bike a bit. An updated headlight bucket would help too. Good luck & ride safe.

More details from MCN UK Thunderbird 1600 cruiser, 1594cc liquid-cooled parallel twin makes upwards of 100bhp, maintenance-free belt final drive. It has a fat 200/70-18 rear tyre with a tall 120/70-19 front.

Yup-I like it.
It DOES take styling ques from the vtx1300, Victory and maybe a little HD. I probably will own one. It's quirky enough to be a Triumph but still falls into the "cruiserish" catagory.
2 things I would have changed-dress the engine up a bit more (NOT a big deal really) and I would have hoped for the radiator to be hidden a bit better but it ain't THAT bad.
I welcome the belt. I like the pipes.
Like I said-I will probably own one. But I am gonna wait for the other version of it before deciding which one.

I definitley wish Triumph would go back to using a more Triumphy looking tank on their cruisers.

At least the radiator's blacked out, doesn't stick out like a neon sign like on the RIII.

I don't see h-d in the rear fender....I think it screams vtx 1300 custom.

I like it more than i expected. I think they have done a pretty good job trying to hide the radiator, deffinatly better than some of the earlier pictures. Overall i like the shape and look of the bike, but I dont like the speedo on the tank. Would have prefered that they keep the speedo above the handlebars like the TBA and TBS. This looks very HondKwackama Davidson.

I think the raditor is hidden pretty well. With twin makes it easier to have that space between it and the motor which to me makes the rad hidden.

Not bad. Not bad at all. At least from that dramatic camera angle there, anyway. And it appears they've done a reasonably decent job of designing that radiator so that it's not too obtrusive. (and don't worry...I'm not going to mention again that they screwed up a little and failed to put FINNING around those cylinder barrels other than those itty bitty little suckers there...nope, I ain't gonna mention that...nope, not at all)

It's not a bad looking bike, but my TBA (and one of the reasons I bought it) reaches out and smacks you across the chops and says LOOK AT ME, I'M A TRIUMPH, WHADDA YA THINK ABOUT THAT ?!!!. This bike doesn't do that. It's just another nice looking bike.

I like it. Rear fender already bobbed, nice turn signals (instead of the pumpkins ) Lots of room to customize too. Some lower pipes, maybe oval. Put a speedo where it belongs and a tach in the console, or not. Drag bars, straighten up those risers and kill all the funky chrome. Yeah, lots of possibilities . Oh, and some fake fins. Now for the big

That was what I said in the other thread. I will wait to make up my mind, until I see a price. For a couple of grand more, it would be a nice upgrade. But its not a 15 or 20 grand bike.

Well, considering that they already have the Rocket as their top priced cruiser I dont see this one being priced higher than it is. Also was told by the local dealer a few months ago that it would bow in at somewhere between $10000 and $11000 Mark

my dealer was upset that Triumph hinted that the bike would be in the 14k range.....big mistake....at 11-12k, they will sell....at 10k they won't be able to make enough of them....at 14k, they will be screwing their dealers and they won't sell.

How much is the rocket? The Speedies/America is 8 so 10 your right I would think about it. But not at 14, I would buy a 10 yr old HD.

This is not a criticism or anything, but has anybody else but me noticed that this engine is not a true "vertical-twin" in the classic Triumph(and BA/Speedy) sense? It seems to be canted forward a few degrees. But, aesthetically I think it works pretty well, as the angle of that cant mirrors the forward downtubes and frame rails just behind the cylinders. (though have I mentioned that it's kind of a shame that there's NO FINNING on those cylinder barrels?)
