Just a question, do you like the LOOK of big tires or the ride?

ok here's the deal... yes you can put a 200 on the stock rim but it really won't be a 200 because.... you are putting a tire "200" that is made to go on a rim that is at least 5.5 to 6.0 wide.. on a rim that is only 3.5 wide so it won't expand to it full size.. Ed

I will admit the fatter does look really cool, but how well does it handle compared to stock? That's the real question. Especially since I'm not one of those to trailer my bike to a riding destination.

Any chance that someone with a stock rim running a 180 or 200 tire can post a pic? I went to get my stock size tires today and the local shop said that it was a 3 hour wait. I don't think so. So now I have the chance again to consider a 180 or 200. It will cost me a lot more but if it looks and fits good I'll go for it. Any input from someone that is running one on a stock rim would be helpfull. Thanks ..........

Alrighty then..I have been asked this a hundred times from many of our members...and I'll answer another 100 times if it will save someones life... You should not mount a 200(or a 190) rear tire on the stock 3-1/2 rear wheel. Its dangerous and anyone who says that it can be done either has not done it, has 'seen' someone else do it, or has not crashed yet. That and it will tear up the tire and rear fender and the wiring that goes with it with stock shocks. Play it safe to ride another day and do it right. The difference between a 170 and 180 is not much and won't look that much different. Its all about balance and our bikes are the best balanced cruisers out there. Ride safe, Doug

Doug, what's your take on the performance/handling of running a 200 vice stock 170 (good and bad)? How much did the new rim/tire cost you?
