I came across this website earlier, and I thought it might be worth a look. It rates different helmets based on a number of tests. Rather than a pass fail like DOT or Snell it actually rates the helmet. It doesn't give reasons for the rating, but it could be useful for somebody looking to get a new lid.

Ok, so my helmet (Scorpion EXO-700) got four out of five stars, but what does that mean? There isnt anything that describes what areas scored what to get that rating.

I agree. Not much help if you do not know what the scale means. Also these must be UK models, I didn't recognize many of the models for helmets here in the states.
