I could probly ride with my Epcos without plugs, but the windnoise would get to me more... The only time they are really loud to me us in first or second gear when you really get on it, just because at those speeds the wind is kinda quiet still. Then it usually drowns out the pipes. Plus they are extra long so they are way behind me.

stern12, Brent sold me some "Staintune Slashcuts." Their workmanship is second to none (really!). They have removable sound restrictors that give you an "either/or" scenario. But, they will set you back seven Benjamin Franklins (ouch!). But I love them. I replaced my "Bub Megaphones" with them (which are quite sought after). Staintune is a Australian Company (they could have a criminal geneology ). The TBA pipes they make can be read about at this website. -BT
"Speedmaster" is a title not a name, - and the title is not plural.

my vote goes for the thunderbike pipes. you dont have to rejet and the sound is very deep and mellow. with reguards to power it felt like a different bike

I would listen to Frank, he is a very smart fella with exceptional tastes.

Chris, mine are longer I'm special. Epcos also have removable baffles, I keep mine in. Can;t imagine the roar without them... might have to try it some day! As for jetting, like frank said, some don't "require" re-jetting, but I would strongly consider it, and I think mine came with Jets... I forget, cause I ordered them the same time as the Freak, so one of the two came with the jets. Ask Brent, he'll tell you what he sends with them.

I'm happy with my Epco pipes. You will have to change your jets with Epcos for sure though, it will barely run without the jets included with the pipes. Thunderbike pipes are very good, but they are more expensive. Specialty Spares are well woth the price, but they are chroned steel so they will need a bit more care. Staintune pipes are very good, but they are rather expensive.

If you go with the Epco's don't remove the baffles, you'll be deaf within a week....Huh, what'd you say?

you can't make a Triumph vert twin sound like a Harley or any of those other Asian copy cat bikes. Too many Who concerts have left me hearing impaired but I chose the Bub slashers because they look look like the originals and they make the bike(along with some other mods) haul ******..: http://www.bonnevilleamerica.cohttp://ww...=500&page=1

Saw drawings of how to drill holes in baffle. Haven't really inspected to see just how togoa about tampering with the baffles. Drilling or removing baffles; is this an easy thing to do? And wont affect performance adversely?

a couple of the guys up here in the far southwest subs of chicago have done the drilling and theirs seem to work just fine and sound pretty good in my opinion. I mean they dont sound like Bubs but it also doesnt cost a couple hundred to drill them out. Ask around and you will see who has done this but I think Mikesr was the ring leader.
