Naturally I'm off that day and the forecast is for rain and thunderstorms all week, so I have a double whammy.

I ride to work just about every day too. I did put the day on the church newsletter calendar and sent out a reminder in my weekly email newsletter.

I ride to work every day too.

Just thought..this this mean I won't be able to find space to park at work...? It's got really bad recently, full of twistandgoes. So if every one rides to work, then by the time I get there I'll have no chance of parking...

I've been commuting via Case backhoe lately.
Maybe I'll put the Trumpet in the bucket?

I've started riding mine to work pretty much every day too. Mileage is 52+/- and I get to use the HOV lane which is cutting about 30-40 minutes off my commute each way.

My commute to work is from my kitchen to my office upstairs with a cuppa joe in my hand. Riding the bike up the stairs would just not be right. How about if I ride it to lunch, instead???

Like most days, not only did I ride in, but in honor of the day I left home early, took the long way in and arrived about an hour late. To make up for my late arrival, I plan to leave EARLY, take the long way home and arrive home whenever.

try to ride every day, did ride today, 71 deg.F this am, predicted 90 deg.F 5pm. Should be a toasty ride home. Definitely taking the 20 mile ride instead of the 10 mile normal commute. Everyone enjoy the ride especially those that are not regular riders.

Looks like I'll get to ride home today in the rain too, added to riding to work in the rain yesterday! At least the wet ride home let's me change when I get there, but yesterday (knew I should have bought a rain suit right away) wet from knees to toes sitting in an air conditioned computer room was a tad uncomfortable (but worth it anyway, better to ride in than drive the truck!!!).

This time of year I always have at least one saddle bag on my sickle. For my rain suit. One thing about the rain I have learned since I wore out both pairs of my non waterproof hardely boots: Water proof boots rock! I'll let ya know how the water proof ones work in real rain after the NH Rally. Yes I said Rain and NH in the same sentence, twice now. Rain is part of rolling during the summer.

Regarding riding to work, I go to the Weather Underground site. This site shows me precisely where the rain is so I can chose the less wet route home. When using this site, click on the station that is not over your area. That way you avoid how do you say? false readings? I choose the Tampa station for the Cocoa Beach Area. Yesterday the site went down but before it did, I was able to discern that all the routes home were wetverywet. It is great to ride only 10 miles in the rain, especially knowing that Matt doesn't have access to my beer fridge.

same here, rode today like everyday...of course i try not to get stuck in the rain because i dont have a front fender. Ive been averaging 4 days a week for the past 2 months. The Philly traffic is helping me be a very cautious rider too.

In observance of Ride To Work Day, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois (where I work), is pulling over EVERY motorcycle rider coming through the gates and performing inspections on their bikes. They are also checking for use of required riding gear (long sleeves, gloves, sturdy, over-the-ankle boots/shoes, long pants, Helmet, goggles if in other than full-face helmet, and brightly colored, contrasting upper/outer garment), and for current Insurance cards, along with proof of completion of one of the MSF rider training courses. Yep, they care so much that they are pulling over EVERY motorcyclist coming on base. Sometimes, delaying their arrival in the work place by as much as 1 hour. Isn't that nice of them.........

After trying to pump-up "Ride To Work Day" fro the last couple of weeks at work, and getting some people promising me that they would, we really didnt have any more people ride to work today than usual... dissapointing! I had one guy tell me today that he doesnt like dealing with comuter traffic, so he just wont ride to work. But, this is the same guy that on a nice weekend will ride up and down the coast. It doesnt make much sense to me. Most of the time, on a nice weekend day, the coast is crowded and slow. Then there is really nothing worse than lost tourists on vacation suddenly deciding they missed their turn or are too busy keeping their attention on other things rather than the road.

Been working out of my barn - so I went for 150mi ride today. Almost literally ran into an old friend- hadn't seen her in 11+ years. Came home, swam with the boys and then headed back to the barn.

Good day.

Rode to work today. There were only 2 additional bikes in the parking lot for a total of 12 including me.

But the best part was riding home - midnight - 70 degrees - full moon...beautiful.
Haven't seen a deer for several months but tonight as I neared my house, there were 2 standing on the edge of the road in my neighbor's yard. I stopped, asked them how they were and told them not to jump out in front of me. They looked at me like the loon I am and meandered up into the yard...... I putted past and pulled in my driveway.
