Welcome, Jack. For the last year, I've been riding with a prolapsed (slipped) disc. (Surgery soon. Yay!!) I don't have a problem with pain (Speedie, stock seat) but I can't go into corners with as much confidence as I should as I feel as tho I wouldn't have the strength to react should something happen mid-corner. That would apply on any bike.

Incidentally, press-ups are better for the abs than crunches/sit-ups, especially if you stagger your arms. (One hand over your head, one by your ribs). Easier on the back, too.
