Just an initial report on the Clearview screen which did arrive yesterday. Again, it was a nine week wait.

1. The screen quality is excellent and appears very sturdy. I'm not using the Triumph straps that come with the roadster screen and it doesn't look as if this will be a problem.

2. I had only the four mounting holes drilled by Clearview and not the other five holes for the straps. The drilled holes are aligned pretty well...the bottom two are perfect while the top two are slightly off which causes a very minor misalignment between the top stems and the screen. I may be able adjust this later.

3. The Triumph top stems were mislabeled. Or perhaps they meant the left stem goes on the left side of the bike when viewed from the front?

4. My initial riding impressions are mixed.

I am almost 6'4" tall, but went with the 18" screen. I wanted to be able to see over the top of the screen as I wear a full face helmet and do most of my riding on twisty mountains roads. My line of sight to the road is good and the taller 20" screen would definitely be in the way during some turns.

That said, I am experiencing some moderate helmet buffeting/head shake at speeds over 60 miles per hour. It's bad enough that it actually jitters my distant vision. I removed the screen and while the wind force is much higher on the chest, I don't get nearly as much helmet buffeting and no vision jittering.

I'm going to do some more road work, but I'm toying with idea of sending the 18" back for a 20" one.
