Going down a long straight road, no intersections , light traffic. I turned my head to read a sign on the side of the road and when I turned my head back what should appear from under the car in front of me but a four foot long tree branch about four inches in diameter laying on an angle. No time to swerve I gripped the bars tight and bounced over the branch at 55 mph. The handlebars tried to yank from my hands and the rear end hopped up and over about six inches. I managed to ride it out, no harm no foul. But it just goes to show you that even when you think you are on a road that should not contain any surprises , you can never let your guard down.

I know how it feels to run over huge menacing hunks of cellulose in the road . Ouch .

Check your rims and forks for any damage/alignment issues. And don't follow so close

Yeah, just for giggles, loosen up your front axle and pinch bolts and bounce on the front end a few times. Then tighten all back up. It doesn't take much of an impact to get the front forks a little twisted.
I was following an SUV one time from a light onto a highway and suddenly found a dead deer in my path. It wasn't much of an impact as I squished over/through the carcass, but boy the rest of my ride sure didn't smell too good....

That happened to a friend of mine last year. Ran over a road kill deer. Got covered in blood and guts from the knees down.
The percentage you're paying is too high-priced

That's why I tend to follow way behind multi-wheelers.
