True but I've had a look at it (as I am interested in something similar) and it's just a cosmetically changed XT 660 (only taller) using a lengendery name (Tenere).
It would be very interesting to see Yamaha come out with a Super Tenere (now that's the real legend) using the TDM's 900cc parallel twin engine.

I think it would look better with cooling fins on the jugs and don't like the up swept pipes or sprocket cover. Something to make the radiator look better too.

Well, I guess that I will have to reserve judgement for seeing it in person. I dont mind the upswept pipes ( me likes to corner!!!! ) The radiator, well, at least it doesnt look like it came off a Mack truck like the Rocket does. My only question, whats she ride like?????? Thats what I want to know. Mark

Dear Mr. John Bloor and company in Hinckley England, Please read the following quote from one of our BA.com members in Pennsylvania and take heed of his wise counsel(ESPECIALLY the FIRST PART about the lack of "cooling fins on the cylinder barrels")... Quote:
I think it would look better with cooling fins on the jugs and don't like the up swept pipes or sprocket cover. Something to make the radiator look better too.
...BECAUSE, I have to say if you DON'T heed his advice, then that there motor sittin' in that there machine o' yours would look like ANY typical UGLY water-cooled motorcycle engine, at least more than it ALREADY DOES! And I would assume that with all the experience which your design team should have by this time, that they WOULD KNOW that "cruiser style" motorcycles LOOK BEST when they AT LEAST give the appearance of being AIR-COOLED.
(at least in MY "humble" opinion anyway...and I'm guessin' in the opinion of my esteemed colleague in Pennsylvania TOO!!!!)

It'd be sweet if Triumph got lazy and just used all the same components from the america/speedmaster and just worked on the engine and accomodating frame. That way you could just take all the cool stuff off the old bike and stick it on the new one. Thats a good way to sell to an overbiased group..."make a new one but keep the mounting positions the same so i can put my god dam tank on there"

Hey Dwight, what are those horizontal black lines on the side pic if they're NOT cooling fins? Swept up exhaust? Gotta agree with yous guys, it looks like a Japanese wannabe copy. Rad? If it's needed, it's needed. I got a Rocket, I can't comment on rads!! Capacity? I'm putting a tenner on 1530cc For what it's worth, there are worse looking bikes on the market, even in this 'rough' form. When I spoke to the test rider a few weeks ago just before he took it to Spain for a week, he said it was a good bike. For the love of God, let's see what, if anything, appears!!

Not sure what to think of Tri engineers. With those gay looking up-swept pipes you would be limited on bag capacity. Why not stay with the America/Speedy style pipes. Guys just build a bigger version of the America and you will sell as many as you wish to build in the US. Oh well I suppose it's still just a spy photo we'll see when and if it ever hits the dealerships, if we have any dealerships left.

You said it! Looks like a suzuki and a kawi had a b@$!@rd child in England. I do feel that they need a in between the rocket and the ba/sm but I would think they would tie in a little class that triumph bikes of the past and today have. Sorry If i pulled up on that bike, I would feel like I was on a mean streak or some cr@p like that....Guess I will just bolt on some eyebrow badges on a c90.. put me out of my misery...

Looks to me like the pipes and bags are meant to disguise the belt drive on the test sled.

Looks pretty similar to the other spy photos we saw. The info I posted in the Mystery Triumph thread was that Triumph dumped the design (as too conservative) and started on a new one (therefore pushed launch date back by six months).
For their sake I hope that the design in the pictures above is the one they dumped.
NIBiker, thanks for making the effort to upload/post this.

Not the head FT, below that. I'm talkin' about those "barren barrels" there. That slab-sided part that "says water-cooled" all over 'em, which in and of itself isn't all that bad a thing, but aesthetically it's just...umm...a boring look.(once again, in my estimation anyway)

And I'm still hoping that Thanassis' info is correct about them reworking the design for this bike, but I'm thinkin' this baby already looks very "pre-production" right now.

Someone may come up with some imitation cooling fins for those that find them aesthetically necessary.

Is belt drive some kind of new technology Triumph's been working on?
Seriously, they need to go back to the air/oil cooling. There's room for a massive oil cooler between the downtubes. That radiator ruins it for me.

The teardrop tank was one of the biggest selling points for me when i bought my speedie, why mess with a good thing. Now i guess i don't have to worry about saving up my money for the bigger cruiser anymore.

Unfortunately, because of all the goverment regulations on emissions, water cooling has become neccesary. From what I have been told, even all HD's will be in the next year or two.

Don't tell that to victory. Their 08 vision is still air/oil cooled even at 1800 (1731) cc's.
Still, even with no rad, the vision is, well, majorly fugly.

The stance reminds me of a basic Harley FXD/Dyna. Hard to tell, but it sure looks like it doesn't have as much lean angle as our bikes. Looks comfortable.
