The stance reminds me of a basic Harley FXD/Dyna.
Derek, My thoughts too. That's where I would have positioned/targeted it too if I were Triumph (considering it is supposedly going head-on with HD).

Question is can I put diesel oil in the engine gearbox or do I have to stick to the slimy synthetics?

Not the head FT, below that. I'm talkin' about those "barren barrels" there. That slab-sided part that "says water-cooled" all over 'em, which in and of itself isn't all that bad a thing, but aesthetically it's just...umm...a boring look.(once again, in my estimation anyway)
Someone may come up with some imitation cooling fins for those that find them aesthetically necessary.
Well Bill, there you go drummin' up business for Brent and Eddy again, you friggin' shill you!!!

Had a read and a closer look at the pictures, seems to have a rear guard and light like the rocket, is belt drive, the radiator looks quite big and the shroud fills the down tubes from the bottom of the tank to the bottom of the engine,I dont actualy mind it at all as I considered a VTX1300 before buying my America. Triumph are moving with the times driven by regulations and customer demand ( fill the gap between ours and the R3), look what happend last time they did not Of more interest the seventies style Bonneville has apparently a 885cc engine (registered as that size). I guess this may filter through to all the air/oil cooled twins eventualy rather like the 865 did.

Pretty hard for me to tell if I like from the photos. Reserve judgment for when I see it in person, but pretty much Japanese looking to me so far.

I wonder what the aftermarket pipes will look like? I think we'll have a lot of choice given the way those sail upward. A Thruxton Cruiser.
Still can't wait to see the real thing.

You gotta be kidding me! All this build up and anticipation and we got this??? Aside from some minor stuff, front brake calipers look cool, turn signal indicators are on the forks, seat appears to have a nice profile and the rear fender is "chopped". The only decent thing about that bike is that it's black (which means its faster than the other ones). For the extra money it would take to sell/trade I could find a better use for it by getting the America fitted with the 1200 kit with all the goodies.

If you look closely, one can see that that's the same bike/design as the previous spy shots. Nothing new here picture-wise but is confusing because we don't know if the bike in all these pictures is pre or after the alleged redesign. I suspect (and would like to think) that they are pre redesign.

I'll take that over a Harley in a second. I even like that blue color (follow the link). I don't know, the more I look at it the more I like it... I guess its better judge in person.

Belt drive thats cool. Looks like 4 cams. Its still a twin right? But the pipes? No. The price point will be the decider for me.

Its butt ugly an I won't buy one unless they sort out the hideous water cooled monstrosity. At least try and disguise it as a classic Triumph twin pot. I'd rather be seen on some Yamaha/Suzuki/Honda HD wanna be custom effort or even an HD Tractor
