I find myself in need of a new helmet and my budget won't allow the purchase of a high end one. My dealer is trying to sell me a Zox Genesis which I like except for the cosmetics and the fact that I am not familar with this brand. Does anyone know anything about this helmet? My other option is the Nolan E-100.

I am a Zox dealer, and i highly recomend this brand of helmet. I had one on when I went under a mini van last year.. All helmets sold in the US must meet DOT regs.. Zox is a great helmet for the price.. I have owned everyt hing from a 1500 dollar brain bucket to a 45 dollar one.. Zox hangs right up there.

I found my latest helmet at HelmetCity.com by requesting all helmets with both DOT and Snell ratings, then further refined my search to the 'closeouts' section where I bought a HJC full face for $119 including shipping. Very happy. SteveB

Just recently Motorcyclist did a G-force test on helmets. The helmet that transmitted the lowest # of G's was a $99 Z1R. It beat Shoei, Arai, Nolan... I plan on checking out Z1R's next new helmet time.

I'm having a heck of a time buying a 3/4 helmet that fits. I take a Large normally, but I've tried several XLs this week that wouldn't even go over my head. HJC is priced right, but the shells are curved at the bottom, and there's a lot of pressure on the sides of my head below the ears. I've been off bikes nearly fifteen years. This wasn't a problem back then, and I think know what the difference is. Does anyone still make helmets in the US?

I ended up buying the Zox and I like it, except for the rear styling, and it is a lot quieter than the Fulmer the dealer gave me when I bought the bike. I really like the slide down sunshield. I find that now I don't leave it hanging on the mirror as this one is nice enough that someone might decide they like it more than I do.

Which model is it?

I got the Zox Genesis. I don't know if its quiet but it is a lot quieter than what I had. Of course, it is modular with easy change face shield, integrated sun shield, good air flow, aerodynamics and a snap buckle type closure for the chin strap.

I know this thread is gettin' stale, but I just want to mention that I finally found a budget 3/4 street helmet that fits. The fit turned out to be a big issue, because many of the helmets I tried were way undersize. Several XLs wouldn't even go over my head. Anyway, I ended up at Cycle Gear (US chain) and bought a gloss black THH helmet with visor. These are made in Taiwan, a manufacturing source I consider infinitely better quality than mainland China (and I say that having lived in China). Anyway, these helmets appear to be slightly oversize, and the M fits me, rather than L. For anyone looking to save a few pennies, the out-the-door price was $40 plus tax. (!) Jack

Just returned from Cycle Gear. Had to get the OL a new helmet. Ended up getting her a full face HJC. In order to find one that fit.Had to go with a youth-XL. Always told her there was somthing odd about her head.
