I tacked Wendys in place with my mig welder, but to get the bracket off I carefully ground the head off the bolt with my cut off tool. Then I tacked it with the welder and turned the rest of the bolt out with pliers. Solder should work if it's clean enough but if you want to save the pipe don't get it too hot.
