I have finally figured out the commonality to the hazards I face while riding here in W.Pa.

Holes....
3 types..
Pot - they're everywhere. Most are annoying, but some will set up a harmonic resonance in the fillings of your teeth - if you manage to survive hitting them.

Man - they're everywhere too. Some are mild. Some are sunk a good 6 inches in the road. They have the same characteristics as "Pot" above, but they are intentionally placed usually in the center of the lane you're in.

And finally...

Azz - they are even more prevalent than "Pot" and "Man". Problem is, they're not normally stationary, though they can be. They move. Erratically. Haphazardly. Mindlessly. Sometimes with malice.....

So learn to swerve. And keep a watchfull eye on the holes.

More flags More fun!

Not here, Id like to meet the jerk who decided where to put the man holes. Seems Like the are always in the best line of a turn. It realy sucks to to have to adjust to miss one while in a lean.

The percentage you're paying is too high-priced While you're living beyond all your means And the man in the suit has just bought a new car From the profit he's made on your dreams

I used to commute on a great winding back road between Lime Rock Park, and Sharon, CT --- 'cept for that one sunken catch basin grate, 2 inches below the road surface, & exactly in the apex of a blind corner. Almost found it the hard way the first time.
I might have said a few 'swears' - maybe
