I don't know if this is a goofy question or not.? Is there a universally accepted set of communication signals for passenger to rider for those without intercoms? My wife will yell at me thinking I can hear her at road speeds. Sometimes will tap me on the shoulder but again I have not a clue what she wants. If I think she wants to stop then it turns out that she was just brushing a bug from my shoulder.

???

Have her tap on your helmet in Morse code.

Perhaps! We tried Semaphore, but, the flags kept blinding me.

I don't know if there is a "universal" communication method, but really, how many signals would you need?

A rap on the right side of the helmet/head - "Slow The ****** Down"...
A rap on the left side of the helmet/head - "I Have To Pee"
A rap on the top of the helmet/head - "That Was A Dumb Move"
Fingers sliding from your waist to your kidneys with increasing pressure - "I'm Falling Off!"

More flags More fun!

Ahhhh, the joys of riding alone...

My suggestion would be to get her a job or a hobby. You can talk about the ride when she gets home.

When her knees start crushing my hips it means "you're heading into these curves a little hot aren't you". The balled up fist to the mid back means "you went into those curves a little hot didn't you".
