I must admit i've never really understood the role of the HA (or similar), i had a sheltered upbringing in the Isle of Man. I know there history and origins, but thats it. I sometimes see groups down in my area wearing their colours and patches and i'm always left feeling slightly amused, because they look very cliche, like a 70s movie. I can understand how in the US , givin its size, the HA have control, or apparent control of other smaller groups. I dont understand how this can happen in the UK pony? I think i need it explaining to me.............
My other half used to ride in a group with her ex, and shes always warned me off them, apparently they treat women like crap. No fear for her, leather waistcoats arent my thing.
Whats with needing permission to ride as a group?
