Pony please do not do the hangaround / prospect route, the HA have already started laying down rules and thats even before you have put one foot in the door. Firstly your Jacket then what would be next.

Have you fully thought out the entire scenario of prospecting what if you do not make it. I have known past prospects of clubs who have been relieved of their motorcycles and some who have had to leave the area entirely. All beacuse they didnt make it.

Look very closely at the guys who asked you to become a hangaround / prospect. How long have you known him, usually offers such as this are not made at early meetings they need to get to know you before that kind of offer is made.

In motorcycling like any walk of life we have many divisions or social strata. I do not condemn those who make the choice the wear a back patch. I Just feel that it is not a decision that should be entered into lightly as it is a way of life and not a lifestyle.

As has been suggested why not try the TOMCC I am in the Glasgow Branch and we have a lot of stuff organised have a look at the web site and see some of the write ups form our club. I think you have the MIghty South London Club who I am sure would be delighted to see you along at one of their club runs meetings.
