The advantages and disadvantages of belonging to a club come out about even. It sounds like that particular club may turn out to be a serious commitment though, so you will want to give it some serious thought. Hangabout and prospect can be likened to a trial marriage in which either party can decide whether you fit in or not. You might find yourself, as a prospect, spending a lot of time outside guarding the bikes at parties, making beer runs, etc. I remember many times having a full member pounding on the door at all hours of the night and telling me to pack up my kit because we will be going on a run to 'take care of club business'. Many of these runs were 3 to 15 days of hard riding. Of course, as a prospect, I wasn't privy to the business of the club, I was there partly for backup if anything bad happened and partly to test what I was made of. Now, that club might not be like that but, since they seem to be affiliated with the Red and White, there is a good chance.
If it's just the companionship and "organized" events (You can tell I have been in a few clubs) you'd like, it may be worth your while to look into any RAT packs in your area. Take a look at HOG as well, many of their events are open to other makes.
