Took my H-D bud over to the dealer for a demo on the 08 RIII Touring. Got to do 15 miles myself, too. Very similar to how my America feels but with a LOT more grunt. A real nice bike for sure. He has a nice Road King which I followed on but it ain't a Triumph, that's for sure.

I took one out for a bit during the Georgia rally. I loved it and found that it handled even better than our bikes in the twisties. Took some getting used to with the power band since I usually twist the throttle when in a curve and the first time I did that it took me unawares quite a bit.

Also on my wish list for a slot in my garage...

I'd love one too but maintenance costs scare me. My buddy seems to be putting tires on his quite regularly. It did ride nicely though but it would be a little harder to pick up if you forget the kick stand.

If they were to unload one in my drive tomorrow and say, "Here, we want you to have this", I wouldn't turn them away, but I don't see myself going out of my way to buy one anytime soon. I just don't feel I would enjoy having to be that careful with the throttle. I think my upper limit for a just plain fun ride would be around 70 - 90 HP, and I already have both ends of that range.
