Well, it's pretty much a given that it will sound better. However, the mod needs to be tested on a dyno to see if low/mid torque suffers. The crossover in high perf autos provides a pressure/scavange effect on the cylinders. It's not clear to me how effective this is with the shorter pipe dimensions in MCs. Interestingly, one of my buddies with a stock Sportster has a crossover between the cylinders, just six or seven inches from the ports. Later models don't have it.
The alternative to testing would be to ask someone knowledgeable at Triumph. This info is fundamental to vehicle design, and the factory if certain to have it.
