If you where lookig in the classifieds you may have seen that I purchased the tank badges of Ray, and my mate Harry (bean_eater) got the other set.
I fitted mine ( nice thanks Ray), I was going to Harry's house with the security bit set so he could fit the his badges and came across an accident that had obviously just occurred.
First instincts OH ****, stopped the bike and just knew it looked bad, bike in bits strewn across the road.
First aid training from work kicked in and I approached the Guys lying on the road, one face down not moving, the other face up also not moving, he was conscious so told him not to move and I was going to check his mate. when I got to his mate he was conscious also, never so glad to find them both breathing and conscious. There was no blood ****** out and all limbs seemed to be pointing the right way on both of them. By then more people on the scene so I instructed to NOT remove helmets, a woman stayed with the first guy and I stayed with the one face down. He had his wits about him and was asking about his son ( the other guy) I had by then enough information to reassure him that he was talking and no bones sticking out etc.
I stayed with this guy and only went over to see the other chap to tell him his dad was Ok.
Chatting (still face down and instructed not to move) with him he says he rounded the corner and the front wheel went from under him and the bike crossed the white line. The roads where quite greasy and it is an accident black spot as well, The America wheel even spun up when I was leaving my street, it was that fine rain that doesn't get you wet but just sits on the road. Anyway By this time I was calming down a bit as all seemed to be going as well as could be expected.
His bike had indeed crossed the line and struck another car, the people in it where all conscious but shocked ( air bags had deployed )
Guy asked me how his bike was, this is going to sound funny now but its the way it happened
Guy says "How's my bike"
Me " Don't worry about it but the tank is off on the road"
Guy "Ah ****, how's the rest?"
Me " The front wheel is off as well "
Guy " Bad then ?"
Me " Yea but you might be able to streetfighter it if you got a set of forks"
Guy "ok"
Medics arrived and I informed them of their condition as I seen. They done their assessments and ended up the dad was walking wounded and went in ambulance with his son, he appeared to have a nasty road rash on his knee. and was stretcherd into ambulance. I think it was mostly shock with the car people.
Once they where all gone got a better look around, took some pics with my phone .
Two very lucky guys I think when you see the damage.
Not for me to say but I recon they went into bend a bit fast.
I then escorted two German tourists on an BMW caught up in the traffic round a few back roads and back on their route to a B&B
So that's two good deeds in one day, I'm going to have a drink tonight.
I sent The pictures to Ray so If He could post them cheers Ray, I cant seem to get mine to work.
Two lucky guys I recon.
