Yep. I got nabbed at 125 in a 55...on a speed triple. Super early in the morning 4 lane highway, not a car in sight...except the cop. I was paying absolutely no attention, and just rolling on the gas clicking gears.

His comment "If I call this in, I have to place you in jail and impound your bike. That is a lot of paperwork this early on a Saturday. I don't want to do that, and I don't think you do either." He knew I understood, grilled me some more, and let me go with "I have your information in my notebook, don't run a stop sign in Denver."

I drove 45mph to the dealer waited till they opened and consigned the bike that day.

After 2 years on the thing, I had no concept of how fast I was going everywhere. The big realization was that if something had gone pear shaped at that speed, a ticket would have been irrelevant.

I literally spent my get out of jail free card that day, and have been happy on a bike with a third the HP ever since.
