From my experience of Aussie roads they are mainly limited to 120kph anyway - and every police car in NSW has a speed camera.... (I did the Pacific Highway Sydney - Brisbane and back via some other roads inland last year....on a Speedmaster! )

If you are going touring, or regularly going 2 up, get the America. The new pillion seat is the upgraded one, and apparntly is a whole lot better than the ones on the 06 and previous. And a sissy bar....is not just good for the passenger, is good for tying stuff to! But get one with a rack.
