The irony in my case is that they are citing me for failure to carry a card, the bike has been insured since the day I bought it and the insurance has never lapsed. I might appeal my ticket since when I went and read the statute it says "The certificate of registration and any automobile insurance card for the vehicle issued pursuant to section 38a-364 shall be carried in the motor vehicle at all times when it is being operated on a public highway". Notice it says "any automobile insurance card". Well, I had one, just not the most current one. Not sure, if that will prevail in court, but might be worth a try. I'm not against the fact that people should be insured, just when they nail you on not having the current card on hand, it just burns you.
