Hi all,
Just received the ISO Grips from fasteddy, looking at the fitting instructions they seem pretty much ok to fit yourself. i wonder, i have read that many here have fitted them there self, are they easy-ish to fit or are there some tricky bits that would make you wish you had never started especally with the trottle side.
Any comments would be greatly excepted many thanks chaps

Just follow those instructions , it is very easy . Just make sure to clean the base metal good , and get them positioned correctly very fast before the glue sets up . Those grips are some of the best money you will spend on your bike .

They are pretty easy. I found doing the throttle side a bit of a fiddle with the cables but not too bad. Do the throttle side first and then match the angle on the other side. I didn't use the plastic spacer supplied, just slackened off the mounting screws and moved the switch gear and lever mounts up a tad. Remember to do that on the clutch side before you get gluing.

+1 on Johntog's mounting method...toss the spacers and adjust the controlls...

Forget the glue - it's messy and hard to remove later. Just use some hairspray and let it sit for a few hours. Much easier to work with.
Definitely scuff up the bar ends for the hairspray to adhere. (should be part of the instructions) I used some wet sandpaper to dull the chrome.

Put the Throttle side on first. Note the position of the throttle grip when completely "relaxed", THEN put the clutch side on to match the positioning of the throttle side. Expect a little looseness on the throttle side. It never caused a problem for me.

Regards,

Tom

Yep, shouldn't have said "glue" hairspray is the stuff to use, takes longer to go off but gives you time for lining things up and is easier to remove if needed.

Use WD-40 to remove the stock grips. And I concur they’re worth the price

I'm not sure if it's metric Herb, I know I haven't got a metric key that fits. I found that an imperial 3/32 allen key is perfect
