think'n about fab'n up a bracket to move the speedo to left side of the motor below the gas tank, just above the clutch cable adjuster bracket. Anyone do this yet, so I might get a head start on some ideas?

Routing the cable might be tricky. Probably be better if you get a smaller electronic speedo. Mind the heat, as well.

yeah rerouting that cable would be impossible i think. Cause it would need to go up to the neck of the bike to clear the wheel, and then back down to the engine and would probably be too short. Your best bet is to get another speedo, or just change the position so it tucks in behind the headlight more. heres what I did http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...part=1&vc=1

Wow, am I missing something here? Why would you want to put your speedo so far below where you ought to be looking (i.e. at the road)? And at the location you describe, wouldn't you actually have to lean over a bit to see it?
One of the many things I like about the America vs. other cruisers is that the speedo is above the bars rather than on the gas tank. Sure, it only takes a split-second more to look that far down, but a lot can happen in front of you in less time than that.

Not used to having so much "clutter" up on the bars. Needs to be "cleaned" up. Friend of mine is running a wireless bicycle speedo from Sigma, seems to be working so far. As with my last ride will probably excess speedo, blinkies, fork covers, large bulbus headlight after warranty runs out--some like to add--i must chop,,,,,,,
