Well it was 7 weeks to the day that a car pulled out on me and I crashed the Speedy. I was covered for new bike replacement warranty. I told the insurance company that I would prefer black again and carby model if available. Yeehaa. My dealer in Sydney has come to the rescue with a 2008 last of the carby model in black. I pick it up tomorrow. My spirits are rising again and I am so happy.
Brent if you reading this be gentle with me as I redo all my mods that I did to the previous bike.
I look forward to reading all my Dinqua material and the advice given by so many of you over the past year.
Now where is that extra long drill bit I made for baffle removals.

Cheers peoples.

Derek

I feel you pain and you glea! The same thing happend to my speedy, I mean the exact same thing, but I replaced her with an america. Half the fun is makin the the bike your own with the mods you do to it. The other half is on the road. Take care.

The insurance deal is this.
If the bike is less than 2 years old and you are still the original owner they will replace it with a new bike even if the bike has been upgraded or you can take the money at market value. Market value money would be several thousand less than an on the road new bike so you would always choose new bike unless injured and cannot ride again.
Ok so I picked up my new bike today and yep she sure is a beauty. It is a 01/08 plate bike so it is 10 months newer than my old girl. Still a carby model but the tank is the new style. My thighs rubbed against it all the way home. I think I will need to grow on this bike as it doesnt feel quite the same as the old girl.

I'm really happy for you Derek! I'm in somewhat the same situation. My America is at the local dealer still waiting to get an estimate done on it. Nervous about the outcome. But really glad for you! And getting an America this time, oh yeah, smart choice brother! lol

Since it still has carbs, you can swap out the tank with one of the older tanks.
