Obviously your tastes are not refined enough to enjoy that imported delicacy. Feel free to send me any leftovers.

Smashing orange bits!

They make rather good biscuits as well, especially the chocolate covered Hobnobs.

A pack?
What, and leave the other pack in the cupboard un-opened?
That's just plain rude!

tut, tut, tut. You just dont understand us brits do ya.

A long time ago a quote was made in england. I'll try and remember it.

Unknown person. "To some people, football is life and death".
Bill Shankley (or was it Bob Paisley) "Oh no, my dear man. It is far more important than that"

Never a truer word said.

It was Bill Shankly

He also said ...

"If he had gunpowder for brains he couldn't blow his cap off."

"Brian Clough's worse than the rain in Manchester. At least God stops that occasionally"

"We absolutely annihilated England. It was a massacre. We beat them 5-4."
-- (Thoughts on a wartime Auld Enemy clash)

"You son, could start a riot in a graveyard."
-- (to Tommy Smith)

"The trouble with referees is that they know the rules, but they do not know the game"

"If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing"

"Football's not a matter of life and death ... it's more important than that"

Last one from me, I promise FJ

I think we need a special board for discussing that silly kickball game. Didn't the French invent it?

Nope, looks like the English got dibs on the inventin' soccer thing. Checked the good ol' Wikipedia that leads to other sourcesd etc., etc., and so on, ad nauseum. Very proud of their kickball game they are. So much so that they let the international governing body live in Switzerland. What the heck is up wit' 'dat? FIFA - Fédération Internationale de Football Association. Wow! That is so very English.

I have never had the pleasure of a Jaffe Cake. Ordered some once from an importer but they took my money and then waited a month to let me know they were out of stock. Finally got my cash back but that ain't what I wanted.

I read somewhere (cant remember just where) that the game of soccer, was intevneted durring the middle ages. And was called "Danes Head". Because the Danes at the time where
Viking and the body of a dead raider on a raid gone wrong,
would be decapitated and the head used for a ball.Later a real ball was used.

Dont know how true or untrue that is.

But anyhow I've already expressed my opinion on Jaffa Cakes,
And Newcastle Ale.

But you will never get me to like Soccer

I've got a store nearby that sells a lot of imported foodstuff. I've bought an tried the Vitties on at least two occasions. I've tried my damnedest to acquire a taste for them, but it seems to me that our brothers and sisters from across the pond have a strange propensity for waxy, bad tasting chocolate over crappy flavored dough. IMO (and to each their own) The crappy little hockey pucks make ‘little Debbie’ into food fit for royalty…
