it went completely dead tonight.....no electricity to anything!.....I was starting it and thought I heard a click under the seat.....then lost all lights, warning lights, starter, etc.....main fuse is ok - changed it anyway.....what is there under the seat that might have clicked and shut off all electricity?.....I'll be going back to the scene of the crime tomorrow in the daylight, with some tools.....any suggestions about what I should be looking for?

check the connections at the battery, and where the ground attaches to the frame. Check the solenoid posts too. Wouldn't hurt to pop each off and clean then grease with electrical grease and re attach to be sure all are tight and making good connection.

There was a recent bike death thread here where the connector was loose on the ignition switch module...that's sorta under the seat...

He means the switch, the wires connect behind where the key is and a member found it loose.

I will be checking all of the obvious connections later today; it was dark when it died and the bike is still 20 miles from home.....the click I thought I heard from under the seat concerns me though....one click and everything was dead....

Maybe the main fuse popped, it's under the left side cover next to the switch also sorta under the seat.

I figured the click was an arc at a bad connection or the solenoid.
Is it running now?

I won't get a chance to get up to the bike (it's 20 miles away) until later today....I'll certainly check all of the obvious connections first....

I thought that too at first but then I reread there's no power anywhere...just like that other bike that went dead in the driveway and then it turned out to be the connection to the ignition switch. I suppose a battery lead falling off might be too obvious to mention...
