I'd say amongst the people I ride with the most (PGR) Its about 50/50 for and not wearing one.
Some are adamant about wearing them and they are given all respect and those who have not worn one for many years and have no intention of starting are also respected ...no one would presume to think its their place to advise or lecture one way or the other.
Perhaps its due to the nature of the average fella who rides in a lot of PGR events. Politically we are pretty much all on the same page....freedom of choice is important to us.
On the other hand otherwise politically inclined individuals often think its their responsibility to legislate to the world.
