Having just returned from a 4000 mile road trip through the UK, France & Spain i've concluded that the buffeting issue isn't as straight forward as i'd originally thought.
I have a Vario screen (which i've championed for a while)that i can adjust mid-flight and can hit speeds of 90mph+ without buffeting however, if i changed my travel direction with the wind coming in from a different angle i'd find myself having to adjust the screen accordingly (even at 70mph)...otherwise i'd feel the buffeting effects..... so wind speed/direction does make a difference (which is no doubt obvious to many but it wasn't to me lol)... so maybe we'll never get the perfect solution...?
Just my personal observation...
