I called li'l m at 14:30 to see if the gig was on. She said
the rain had stopped, so I stuffed my rain gear into the
saddlebags and headed to New Haven(after picking up some
shrimp tempura for Mom).
Blasted up 95, got off for downtown, and found the stage
on my first circle of the green. Parked in front of a
production truck.
The crowd was light, due to the earlier rain, but Sleeping
Giant rocked out to a very appreciative audience.
Shari loves doing what she's doing, and it shows! She's also
very good at it, as are the guys she plays with. They had a
cool, although abbreviated, set list. I really liked their
version of "Movin' on Up"(theme song for the "Jeffersons").
They are funky and talented musicians.
I had a great time, a hotdog and a Pepsi, and made it home
without getting rained on.
Of course, I forgot my camera
