Hey guys-

Thought I would introduce my self and thank everyone associated with this website for helping me through my new (slightly used) purchase. I pick up my 2004 British Racing Green TBA this weekend. Almost completely stock at the moment w/ 1900 miles and looks like it has been rubbed on with a diaper for 4 years wile never seeing the light of day. This thing is mint, and got a good deal…2 sets of bags, shorty OEM pipes, and some extra chrome as well. Have long been infatuated with good old British engineering….Dad had a couple of BSA’s in the ‘60’s…I had a ’67 MGB roadster as a daily driver for about 5 years between ’99 and ’04 then moved on to a Land Rover….

Been looking to get back on two wheels for a while now, so there really was no question which direction I was going when I started the search. Just can’t get away from the classic styling and British quirkiness!

With that, you guys have helped me get my winter project planned….Pipes, freak, and carbs…this thing needs to get a lot louder!!!

Anyone in the greater Charlotte, NC area up for a ride soon, give me a shout.

BTW first post ever on any forum on any site….bear with me while I learn the ropes!

Welcome and open up that wallet becuse for the next few years it will be your best friend......you will now also be best friends with Eddie and Brent and an opening cast of hundreds. The guys in here are a friendly lot even if they do speak a quaint dialect of English ...only us Scots truely can pronounce our ars..... if offered Jaffa cakes the common response is yesssss these can be traded for shiny bits with the more addicted members of our group. Oh and enjoy the bike they are really something different ......

I cannot decide whether to be a good example or a horrible warning ! Peace & respect http://www.tomcc.org/gg/ Eric

Welcome aboard! You probably know by now that you are really going to have a problem staying off the bike long enough for it to cool down so you can work on it.

Welcome aboard. There's a long standing dispute about which color is faster but I can attest that Green is the loveliest color...

Gotta admit I've always liked the looks of BRG and tan. Those colors just seem to compliment each other, don't they?!

Looks classy there, Ed!!!

Well, you're going to be sorely disappointed then. These bikes have very little oil leaking problems, don't vibrate; and ol' Joe Lucas seems to have been exorcised (mostly )

Having the Land Rover, I am pretty familiar with the “open your wallet routine.”

What I can’t get a handle on yet is this whole reliability, no oil leak thing…bizarre

Thanks for the info on the club. I work down town and get to Mac’s every week for lunch…I am sure we will see each other soon.
