I found this site while I was doing some research. I don't own a Triumph now (sorry) but, I plan on getting one within the next year or so. Rising fuel prices and living in an area where we have sun 95% of the time influenced my decision.
My wife isn't too keen on the idea of me getting a motorcycle (she's coming around) and was frustrated when I stopped 4 or 5 times at Freedom Cycle's display at the last Home Show.
Currently, I own 2 Jeeps (Cherokee with 3.5" lift on 32's and a Wrangler with 4" lift on 33's). They're great for OHV use but, too uncomfortable for the wallet to be daily drivers.

I hope to gain much knowledge from this site.

Welcome and hope this place turns out to be helpful to you.
Most people here will give you a straight answer to any questions you may have(not always the correct answer but a straght one most incorrect answers pertain to choise of colour or model ei Red vs Black, America vs Speedy).

You may want to keep an eye on the classified section. Evey once in a while a member is forced to sell, his or her bike.
And many offer them here first.

+1 as above some members sell bikes occassionaly and you can be assured that the guys in here look after their bikes really well so most will be well modded with some really tasty aftermarket parts added.... and some of them it is alleged even take them into their homes..basements...or ahemmm wherever...so you could do a lot worse thankeep your eyes on the boards.

Oh aye and welcome

Welcome Justin, you're looking into a really fantastic machine (hint, hint). Ask away with whatever questions you may have.

You've come to the right place. There is more good info on Triumphs here than anywhere short of the factory.
You may find though, that you won't save as much gas as you might think. Sure, you will see 45 to better than 50 MPG, but they are such a joy to ride that you end up putting in more miles.

Thanks.
I know I won't be looking at Vespa-like fuel mileage but, it's better than the 15-17mpg that a modded Jeep gets.

I'm sure I'll learn a lot from this site.

72 Virginians, isn't that what terrorists get after they martyr themselves?

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. The original joke:

Abu al-Zarqawi died and George Washington met him at the Pearly Gates. He slapped him across the face and yelled, "How dare you try to destroy the nation I helped conceive!"

Patrick Henry approached, punched him in the nose and shouted, "You wanted to end our liberties but you failed!"

James Madison followed, kicked him in the groin and said, "This is why I allowed our government to provide for the common defense!"

Thomas Jefferson was next, beat al-Zarqawi with a long cane and snarled "It was Evil men like you who inspired me to write the Declaration of Independence."

The beatings and thrashings continued as George Mason, James Monroe and 66 other early Americans unleashed their anger on the terrorist Leader.

As al-Zarqawi lay bleeding and in pain, an Angel appeared. Al- Zarqawi wept and said, "This is not what you promised me."

The Angel replied, "I told you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you in Heaven. What did you think I said?"

Naw! Justin here doesn't have to worry about that, Kevin. Those morons never come on this website, because I hear whenever they want tech information about their rides, or just want to shot the breeze with their fellow "enthusiasts", they always log onto THEIR favorite website...www.cameljockey.com.

(BTW Justin...Welcome dude!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

OH! So you think I'm always "PC" around here, HUH Kev?!

NOW it's become crystal clear to me why you're under all of these misconceptions around here so often...you see evidently...YOU AIN'T REALLY BEEN READIN' ALL OF MY POSTS IN THEIR TOTALITY, dude!!!

(of course I probably shouldn't blame you for utilizing that old Evelyn Wood speed reading method you seem to be using, 'cause I DO post a heck of a lot of stuff around here, ya know)

I hardly ever visit 4X4 Wire or Pirate anymore. This place is more fun (addictive).
