I swear I don't watch the show but I have picked up some knowledge just by observing pictures and catching stuff from TV ads (I did watch Voltron when I was a kid and this is pretty much a live-action adaptation). It depends on which series you're watching as to whether the yellow one is a boy/girl. There are separate Power Ranger teams that use different robots and the sexes of the team members can vary with the colors (except pink of course).

Oh, my bike gets pretty hot during the summer days as well but if you keep moving then it's OK. Traffic sucks no matter what you're riding but the heat does get directed up because of the fairing.
