Hey does any body know of a good place to get pipes installed in the connecticut rhode island area. I got a pair of ss slash cuts an I'm having a hard time finding a place that can do it before Wednesday the 18th. Can anyone help me out. Thanks!

Mikey

Do it yourself, all you have to do it undo the the clip infront of the silencer which connects them to the headers. Then take off the pillions plates and the pipe will slide off with a bit of wiggling around. to put them on is a Reversal of the above, as for jetting if need be someone may chirp in if you need to rejet but that aint hard either..

You're in need of a CT tech day... Where in CT?

PS Wojo or Moe, maybe this should go in exhaust?

Take off the old ones, put some high temp RTV on the new ones. Install them. Done. Now re-jetting is a whole nother 1%.

haha well, it really is a simple procedure. Literally 3 bolts per pipe. Check out the tech vault. I have a good friend in Oakdale right near you, I'd come help but I have this job thing...

We don't know how well you are set up, there Mikey, but it can get real expensive, real fast, if you can't try to do a few things yourself. We are all here to help, and there is a TON of information right here on this Forum. Besides, it's your butt out there on the road on those two wheels, and knowing that, when doing things yourself one tends to be pretty careful and conscientious about doing things right, and not leaving a job half done. (Though we all have done it, it's a lot easier to figure out WHAT went wrong when you did it yourself!)

Oil changes, chain adjustments, air filters, changing exhaust pipes - all real basic, requireing little experience and very few hand tools. Teach yourself, and don't be afraid to step out and do something. That what this Forum is for!

For me, piddling around on my bike and performing routine maintenance and inspections is JUST as enjoyable as the riding is! It makes her more MINE!

Good points Black. The slip ons seemed basic but, I needed to have someone do the re-jetting. Thats a little over my head.
