But seriously folks, I like the camera idea, and the hand motions. There are different scenereos here... the multi lane highway, the around town, the back roads... there are probably different combinations of the above suggestions that would help a lot.
I'm also a fan of actually going a little faster than the flow of traffic. Pretty much keeps trouble in front of you. Then move over for the real A holes. Of course, on a back road that's not always possible. My MSF instructor gave some good advice. If you're not ready to get up and run with the big boys in the left late, don't get on the interstate. If you're going too slow for traffic, you're an obstacle.
